Supervisor’s Message – April 11, 2020

There is no way to measure the sacrifices Americans are being asked to make as we head into this holiday weekend. Family dinners, religious services and Easter egg hunts—time-honored traditions that make this time of year special for so many families—are being put on hold, so that we are able to protect and preserve our ability to celebrate in the future.

While I know how tempting it may be to relax your social distancing efforts over the next few days in exchange for a more “normal” holiday weekend, I am asking you to please refrain from group gatherings and non-essential outings. Instead, take advantage of opportunities like drive-in church services (remain in your vehicle and avoid close contact) and spend invaluable time engaging with members of your household. As we head into what is expected to be the apex of Coronavirus in New York, and with one death already confirmed in Seneca County, it is more important than ever that we remain vigilant and committed to doing our part to flatten the curve in our community.

Please have a safe and happy holiday.

Stay Healthy, and continue to look out for one another.

Warmly,

Joe Borst
